“Praise is becoming and appropriate for those who are upright.” — Psalm 33:1b
The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines the verb ‘becoming’ as ‘to come to be’ or ‘to undergo change and development’. The adjective ‘becoming’ is defined as ‘attractively suitable; fitting’.
A worship leader is just a worshipper who BECOMES (verb) the praise/worship song he or she is singing to the Lord Jesus.
It is no longer about the music, vocals or scale (although that continues to happen in the background) but about the song turning into a deep, honest cry from the worshipper’s soul.
It becomes their prayer, their expression, and their very breath.
And when that happens, the song is becoming (adjective) of the worshipper. So attractive and palpable that others around him or her are drawn to emulate.
And that’s when the worshipper becomes a worship leader.
